A good understanding of how food works to fuel the body is an important concept. Food preparation especially eating protein with clean calorie goals is a key component needed for strength, short bursts, and recover time. I know I need to fuel my body and be disciplined with macro tracking and protein and calories for peak performance.
Staying hydrated and replenishing water is an all day task.
I use MyFitnessPal to track macros to meet my weight goals, caloric, protein, carb and fat goals.
I don't like to eat breakfast; this is my compromise. I make this shake 7 days a week for breakfast.
At least once a day, I eat chicken and rice. Seth Feroce (IFBB Pro) has published his love for chicken and rice and how it has helped him grow. I adopted the simplicity of it so it takes out the guessing of what to eat everyday.
Time is always a battle of sacrifice. Finding enough time to eat, sleep, train, study etc. Supplementation helps achieve nutritional goals while saving time and feeling full. Before practice, the gym or training, this shake combo provides enough fuel and stay hydrated.
